irthlingborough.net is the first instance of an exciting experiment called Habitat - a free, open-source, self-hosted social platform for local communities. Residents in and around the area are encouraged to sign up and engage in local conversation.

You are also invited to share your thoughts on what Habitat and irthlingborough.net should become. If you have suggestions for features or categories, please post in the Habitat Meta category.

Please keep in mind that this project is still in its experimental phase, so things are likely to change!
