I love how the flowers frame the gate into the Church

I had never noticed before that the sign has a whole bunch of stuff going on. The River Nene running down through the middle. The church on one side, the cross on the other. It would be good to know the meaning of some of these things. Obviously a boot though! Northamptonshire after all!

The pillars framing the old entrance gate and cattle dock are still here. Apparently there are still some rails around here somewhere too.

One day in 2021 I was walking around my hometown of Irthlingborough when I stumbled upon this very old gateway in the middle of a housing estate. What is this thing? Where's the local knowledge when you need it? This is why I have been building Habitat - a free and open source, self-hosted social platform for local communities. You're looking at the Irthlingborough instance of Habitat right now. At this time of writing this, it's very much a work in progress. The plan is for any instance of Habitat to be able to communicate with any other, allowing visitors to benefit from local knowledge too.
